Colonel César Canales dedication to Máximo Castillo

The featured photo is a postcard picture of Colonel César Canales, written on the back of the card is a dedication addressed to Máximo Castillo. Colonel Canales writes "To my good friend and soldier in arms Colonel Máximo Castillo", dated April 30, 1912.

During combat in Durango, both Colonel César Canales and Colonel Abelardo Amaya were killed. However, before Canales died he asked Máximo to take charge of his troops and care for them. In the memoirs, General Máximo Castillo writes about the consequential impact of the deaths of Canales and Amaya, saying the revolution lost two of its greatest leaders at that moment. #MexicanRevolution
